Pergo Laminate Flooring Burnished Fruitwood - Okay we're going to put a little bit of clear lacquer on this patch, assuming that the rest of the piece of furniture has a lacquer finish. You don't want to get to much of the spray out here. So, what I usually do is just put my hand here, you'll get a little bit of lacquer on your hand but that's okay. Just a little bit like that. Now I'm going to go ahead and spray some lacquer on the rest of this piece here, because it doesn't have any finish at all, so this is going to look a little more even. And there you go. This is a little bit rough of course, and you can see this line, but we didn't take for ever to cut around it, so that, what we have right there would probably do. And there's your veneer patch.
I'm going to show you how to use a router as a straight lining mechanism. Pergo american cottage natural oak laminate flooring If you're ever out on a job site, and you don't have a table saw, or a really big radial arm saw to your disposal and you need to make a cut this like and a skill saw is going to be too messy of a job, what you can do is use a router to do it. Or, if your machines are not working for whatever reason, you only have a router, what you can do is you take a straight edge like this, we've jointed this, we have a nice straight edge, and we're going to clamp this down and use it as a guide for the router. So what we need to do is find out from the edge of this, which the base will be running off of, to the outside, what the distance is. So, it is 2 3/4", so what we need to do is if we want to take off a 16th is do 2 11/16ths, just shy of 2 3/4 that we measure over on both sides, clamp this down, and then run it. So we have our two marks, so we position the straight edge across both of them, clamp it down here very, very tight, and the same over on this side. And now we'll take the router, and double check it, and it looks like it will just be cutting into the piece. So now what you do is you take this, you take the piece and run it all the way across. It will give you a nice straight edge, parallel to the one that's already there now, and perfectly perpendicular to both sides, because we measured the same distance on both sides.
Pergo estate oak laminate flooring Today we're going to talk about how to finish your butcher block countertops. And other wooden items in your home. This will be both for end grain. The side grain of your countertops. Whether you have sink cut-outs and how to prepare and treat those areas. We are mainly going to talk about the Tung Oil products. The Dark Tung Oil. The Pure Tung Oil. And the mix of Citrus Solvent and Pure Tung Oil together. You can use any or all of these products. Mainly we're going to just focus on using the Pure Tung Oil and the Citrus Solvent so we're going to set this one off to the side for now. We're going to start right away with the Citrus Solvent Half and Half. And one of the things we do is seal these bottles on the inside with a foil seal like this. You don't have to peel off that seal. In order to get the products out of here. All you need to do is punch a little hole in it, so that you can squeeze it out. And then we're going to squeeze it into a container here so we can use it. The reason why you want to use a container like this rather than a plastic cup is because the Citrus Solvent itself is a strong enough solvent that it could penetrate and potentially dissolve a plastic cup. So, we're going to start with that. On the end grain of the countertop which is here, we're going to use some Pure Tung Oil there. The reason why we want to use the Pure Tung Oil there because the end grain of wood is like little straws. It's going to drink a lot of that oil up. Where as a side grain isn't going to drink as much up. So we want to use the thinned product. We're going to put a little bit in the cup here and use it for the end grain there. And you can see, I don't know if you can tell the viscosity of the two products here, but if you look at them you can see one is definitely thicker. You know, as you tilt back and forth here you can see how much thicker they are. So this is almost the viscosity of a motor type oil.
