Modular Home Remodeling Ideas, Can It Be? - Suppose you were asked to name something made in a factory. You might have thought of ... let's face it, just about everything is built in a factory. Is this the way your computer was built? A vehicle is probably one of your biggest investments. Suppose it was built this way. Not very likely scenarios, are they? But if I asked you what is the most expensive thing you might buy not built in a factory, you'd probably name ... right, a home. Your home? Why on earth would you spend thousands of dollars on your biggest investment for something not built in a factory or building center? With traditional home building, all it takes is one good downpour during construction to quickly turn your dream home into a nightmare. Add in unreliable subcontractors, low-budget materials and before long, a little wasted time turns into a lot of wasted money. Maybe you've never thought about homes that are built in a factory or building center.
Please note, can a modular home be remodeled we're not knocking all site builders. There are plenty of reputable builders, and most have a specific niche in today's market. Besides, many folks like living in subdivisions and feel quite comfortable in high-density population areas. That's where site builders do best. They can have many jobs going on at once. They can have their construction materials delivered, in bulk, to the same general area. And they can supervise their crews because they are working in the same area during different stages of construction. But allow me to introduce you to Palm Harbor's exclusive SmartPlus system. In a nutshell, we can build the home of your dreams to any code required by your local governing jurisdiction. We build it smart, with all the ecological and environmental construction aspects you'd expect from a green builder. Plus, we build it faster, and at the same time your site work is being completed. This process puts you in your home faster than you thought possible. And, did I mention our homes are beautiful, hosting dozens of awards on design, construction and energy savings?
Factory built: modular home bathroom remodel It's more than just a good idea. It's a better way to build. Think about it: Every component in your home was produced in a factory, from doorknobs to roof trusses. Why do they do it? It's more efficient. Materials are stored inside, located at the fingertips of the worker. Employees represent a stable workforce and show up to work each day Materials are ordered and delivered in quantities that are cost-effective. By maintaining control of its production, suppliers of components can achieve higher quality at lower cost and can be more competitive in the marketplace. Suppose you need a new kitchen faucet. Imagine a plumber showing up at your house with a bag of screws and washers, fittings and other hardware, a whole box of specialty tools and begins to assemble your faucet before installing it. How much do you think this faucet would cost you? Lower costs for components allow us to give you a better home at the price you can afford. You really do get more home for your money. I think you get the picture now. As I said earlier, it's more than just a good idea. It's the better way to build. Now, let's get on with the Palm Harbor SmartPlus factory tour.

Doors with Crown, Decorative Molding for Kitchen Cabinets
Decorative Molding for Kitchen Cabinets; Doors with Crown - Hi guys today I want to talk about a recent kitchen cabinet update we recently did... previously we had these ugly flat yellowing laminate cabinets that we would either have to replace or have someone coming in here and update, so we decided to do it ourselves so what we did on is we we found a way to update the cabinets and make the kitchen your more modern without actually replacing anything and we decided to do that because everything already fit the hinges all lined up in such if we got new doors we have to drill new holes and make everything work and it was a lot easier to do it this. So what we actually did what we did is we actually went out to our local home improvement store and I purchased two-and-a-half inch by one quarter-inch pine slatted wooden and I cut them it till length for each one of the cabinet doors sanded the laminate surface the entire laminate surfaces every door with a belt sander and then glue who did the would directly onto the laminate surface just with a contractor.
I think it was hard as nails contractor adhesive I had to clamp the mall down all the way round the doors and leave overnight about 24 hours. Adding crown molding to existing kitchen cabinets after that on I went ahead and i reset and did all the wood so that each individual piece would line up nice and smooth and we didn't have any gaps between um once that was done how was able to lay the doors out and paint each one of them and then we were brought him back up stairs put all the hinges back on everything already lined up because it was the same door hang them up and then just added a couple door handles here and oh well off we've got completely new cabinets for the pain on the bottom we used a dark grey this is a bear I Marky bear being Home Depot's brand our marquee paint the I have the style is peppery it's a peppery gray paint on that we use for the bottom its their premium top quality paint so we figured that it would stand up well it's intended stand up well to you arm scrubbing and in cleaning on the top we actually use the kitchen and bath paint from Dutch boy and we just went with their ultra white semi-gloss paint yet as I'm the right out of the can didn't actually makes any other color into it so we got that really bright white arm again the kitchen and bath various couple very I will really stand up to t kitchen use with you know dirty fingers in such touching touching the cabinet doors okay so I hope that this is hokey out given you.
Some ideas adding crown molding to ikea kitchen cabinets on what you might be able to do with your cabinets arm this was really it it was in a difficult project but it wasn't easy in the sec fact that it it took quite a bit I'm you really got a wait 24 hours after you too late you gotta way he after your pain Tom take it off you know it was a long process it took about a week actually get it done but otherwise it wasn't that difficult it cost is probably a couple hundred dollars including all materials in pain everything to do the cabinets but we've been very happy with how they turned out if you have any questions feel free to leaving a comment I will be happy to help you in any way I can otherwise have fun and good luck did up on.

Wood Blind Window Treatment Ideas
Wood Blind Window Treatment Ideas - So we are back in Long Beach today. At Mrs. Alloua home and we were here last week to show her some curtain fabrics and we also showed her some window treatment ideas and color options. Yes, last time we spoke to Mrs. Alloua she said she was going to paint the downstairs warmer colors to match our drapery fabrics and today it looks like she painted her door so I’m excited to go inside and see what she’s done inside the house. I notice that you went ahead and painted the walls as we discussed. You painted them a warm, warm off-white. And you went ahead and added the wrought iron to the staircase. Last time it was just wood. Well I can’t wait to see how things are going to turn out. It looks really nice and relaxed. It gives the room a little bit more of a comfortable feeling. So Mrs. Alloua also asked us to go ahead and create custom window treatments for her family room. We had some extra hardware and some extra drapes so Hector is behind me putting up the hardware right now and we will go ahead and scarf it a little bit later on.
Wooden blind slats ideas We are also going to look at her staircase and add some antique silver paint to match her wrought iron drapery hardware. So this is Mrs. Alloua’s staircase and as you can see it’s a dull brown. We had a crew come in earlier today and give it just a little bit of a silver finish to liven it up so it will match the drapery hardware and window coverings. She also had her table delivered and it’s a gold table which really doesn’t go with the silver décor of the room or the living room so we are going to go ahead and have our crew paint it and touch it up a little bit with silver and glamorize it a little bit. So what do you think? The house is beautiful, I love what we’ve done. Yes, I love the colors as well. Let’s see what Yessy has to say about it. So first off Yessy I want to thank you for allowing us to come into your home and dress up the style of your home and really fulfil our mission which is to enhance the quality of life. Thank you, I’m just so amazed by what you guys did today. I can’t even believe it myself thank you so much.
Overall once you’ve seen the work we’ve done in the living room, the bedroom and the family room, how would you rate your overall level of satisfaction? 125%! The top percent! wooden window blind parts Now that we’ve put everything together as far as colors go, what made you decide to have us go ahead and do the rest of the house for you? Based on the initial work that you did for me, I decided to go ahead and redo my house. And I just love the fact that everything came out so nicely. What would you say overall the best part of the job was? I love my bedroom, oh my God, it’s like a dream to me! Thank you. And would you recommend us to your friends and family? Definitely, you are going to have a lot of people who are going to call you for that! What do you have to say about Mallie working with us as a consultant? Oh my gosh she is amazing! I know that you put your ideas together and your work as a customer service person was amazing.

Queen Victoria presented the desk to President Rutherford Hayes in 1880.

Step Follow the manufacturer's instructions for cleaning the surface after the paint has been removed. Some require you to use a paint remover, while others can be cleaned with water. Step Allow your furniture to dry completely. Use sandpaper to remove any remaining paint. Now your furniture is ready for a fresh coat and a brand new look. Simple Wooden Bar Stool Designs and Plans
FREE Simple Wooden Bar Stool Designs and Plans - All right. So I did mention this is a full wood bar, which means we're going to be using some great quality would, starting with a 3/4-inch piece of ply. You're going to need about three sheets of that. Then we're going to use something for the decorative elements called figured ply, which is just a little thicker. And it's actually solid wood. And Rob will tell us more about that in just a little bit. You're also going to need no stain for this, no paint. We're going straight up shellac. We're going with that amber shellac. And we'll talk about that in a little bit, too. And you're going to want some denatured alcohol just in case you get the shellac anywhere else. Like my fingers were completely yellow earlier. So that helped out a lot. Now, you're also going to need this bad boy here. This is a corbel. All right. And this is a solid wood element made with a decorative scroll. That's going to actually act as an accent for our bar. OK. So these are the basic materials. You don't need too much.
Now, wooden designer bar stools keep in mind, if that's too expensive for you because birch sometimes, the finished birch can be a little expensive, you can always opt for a lesser-grade wood. Now, as far as tools, you're going to need a wide array of tools for this, starting with your circular saw. If you have a table saw, that's definitely going to help you make those larger cuts because this bar that we made is completely ginormous. It's about six foot long by, I don't know, about three foot tall. All right. So get yourself a circular. You're going to want a nail gun, a router, a sanding device, and a couple drills. All right. We're creating a pretty beefy bar at six feet long by two feet deep. So first we need to make a solid base structure for this bar using 3/4-inch birch plywood. So we cut and assemble two sides, a top, bottom, and front, and tacked it all together.
To give it a flawless appearance, we attach the pieces using pocket-hole joinery which hides your screws in the back of the boards. Once that's assembled, bar stool with backrest plans we sanded it all down, flipped it on its side, and put on the casters. Now we're ready to move on to the front. Using 3/4-inch figured birch, which is a more decorative finishing birch, we created something that looks a lot like two picture frames next to each other, which creates depth and a decorative element to the front. Then we put on some beautiful wood corbels and route out a decorative edge for the bar top. Now we're almost ready to belly up to the bar. That's right. We are almost there. So we're going to finish this up live. And joining me in the studio is our resident carpenter extraordinaire, rolling in the bar, Mr. Rob North. What's up, pal? Hey, hey, hey. Good to see you, man. Heck of a job on this bad boy. It's not finished yet, folks.

Wood for Garage Ceiling, Is It Okay?
Wood for Garage Ceiling, Is It Okay? - Hi folks Iím Mark with ProLine Range Hoods and one of the questions we get asked a lot, is do I need to anchor my range hood to a stud and the studs donít line up with the holes. Thatís a regular occurrence and you do need anchor your range hood to a stud so Iím going to show you today how to find a stud because itís an important part of installing really anything that needs to be supported so youíre going to get some shelving from Ikea or something that needs to be hung from a wall Home Depot, youíre going to need to find a stud. So thereís some basic principles to understand, Now here on this wall you can see that we have an outlet. Now normally an outlet is on a stud is right next to an outlet so thatís an easy occasion. Now the next thing that is important to note is in the United States most framing in houses is on sixteen inch centers. Now occasionally weíll run into some older homes framed on twenty four inch centers framed with lack an plaster, things like that but generally, sixteen inch centers.
So if my stud started on the outside of the outlet then the next center of my stud would be right here. type of wood for garage joist ceiling Now if it were on the other side of the outlet, the stud might be right here.In this environment where this is a single layer of sheetrock over a wood stud where you knock on the sheet rock, it is going to sound solid where the stud is. Where there is no stud, it will sound hollow, kind of like a drum. So, if I knock over here, here thatÖhollow. As I come here, here that solid. And back to hollow. So it is right there, that is right where it is at. Let is just go ahead and put it right here. Now hereís one of the tricks, I barely missed it because I could feel the drill bit, I could feel the screw go sideways, so Iim a little to the left of it. I did'n it hit it but if I use that same hole and I go this way , I know it is right there. As we drive this screw in, you could feel how hard that is.
You know that is the stud so compared to when we drilled it this way, it goes all the way in and it will spin so we know we found the stud, weire right on the side of the stud. Wooden hanging garage shelves That is right on the center, now the nice thing about knowing that is now you have a pretty good idea on where the rest of your studs are so weill measure over sixteen inches so your center will be right there and so now I can firmly attach my range hood. Well, that is how you do it. Thanks for watching and have a great day! If you have any questions just look on our website or call our 800 number.

Wood Frame for Porch Swing Set with Free Plans
Wood Frame for Porch Swing Set with Free Plans - I have been building and selling this particular style bench for about 4 years now and you can build one too. You can build some to make money or simply build a couple for your own yard. It features a comfortable 15 degree back and 15 degree legs. In the link below you will find a full tutorial as well as a free set of plans. To build this bench you will need eight 8' 2x4s, about a pound of 2-1/2" outdoor screws, and some 2-1/2" outdoor pocket hole screws if you want to secure the slats from below. To start cut all of your pieces according to the cutting diagram. You can use any type of saw for this. A jigsaw, circular saw, hand saw, or in my case a miter saw. Before you begin assembly arrange all of your pieces so that the good side is down. Next use the pocket hole schedule to drill all of your pocket holes. This is how we will attach the seat and back slats to give a nice clean look. If you do not have a pocket hole jig you can simply attach the slats from above with regular outdoor screws.
When putting your leg assemblies together you will form a parallelogram where the pieces intersect. It is important to put the two screws along the long diagonal of this parallelogram and not the short diagonal. This will do a better job at preventing movement. Wooden porch swing with metal frame Use glue and two screws at each intersection. To make assembly easier I designed this so that you can use a scrap piece of 2x4 to space the horizontal members apart. The back support is attached to both horizontal pieces of the leg assemblies. It intersects the top back corner and is flush with the bottom of the lower horizontal member. Again, use glue and two screws along the long diagonal of each intersecting parallelogram. You also need to make sure that the angle of both back supports is the same. To do so secure the second back support with just one screw. Place both assemblies together on the ground and make any adjustments needed. Then finish securing the second back support.
Use the 40" board to connect both leg assemblies at the base of the back supports. wood porch swing with frame If you used pocket holes make sure that you attach it with the pocket holes in the back. If not you can simply screw from the front of it into each of the back supports. Attach the back seat slat first using glue and screws. If you used pocket holes you will probably need an extension for your drill for this first seat slat only. If you did not use pocket holes you can simply screw from the top with two outdoor screws on each side. The spacing in between slats is 1/4". You can use a 1/4" drill bit or a standard wood pencil. I always space the first back slat slightly more than 1/4" above the seat slats. For this I use a regular Sharpee marker which is about 1/2". To me it just looks a little bit better. Again use glue and screws with regular 1/4" spacing for the rest of the back slats. So that's it. An easy bench design that is pretty strong and pretty comfortable. I hope you can make one or two and possibly make a few extra dollars by selling some. Don't forget to check out my website for a free set of plans as well as some other free how to projects. Old Fashioned Wooden Porch Swings
Old Fashioned Wooden Porch Swings | Ready-to Sale - Hello everyone its Brittaney with Tru Furniture in this video I will show you how to remove a veneer top form an old piece of furniture I found this piece at a local yard sale its just a really cool looking end table. The only problem with that is that I has a two layer vaneer on it that is an extremely terrible condition i run into this a lot and re-doing furniture like I do so I'm gonna take stab at getting this off and I'll show you how I do it so the tools I always start out with is a and chisel scraper tool I like it to have a sharp edge to it I can really get under at the the thin vaneer and left it up also I use a hammer. I've already started to peel this up a little bit as you can see it looks like it might come off in one big chunk with is really nice so and I'm going to just peel off pieces right now that are coming off on their own try to keep it pretty flat other wise it will go right into the wood underneath and you'll have deep gauges in there.
Alright to this is what I have left over after peeling off the majority of the veneer your still going to have a couple spots that are really hard to get off because the clue is still sticking to the table what I'm doing here I have my iron set on a medium setting the lowest setting I can get with the steam hold it on your spot for a few seconds and then try to scrape it off with your scraping tool. Antique wood porch swing Okay I just finished using my iron to try and take off this left over veneer that was really glued on their I got as much off as I could, I didn't get it all off. I'm pretty sure if I just sand it with my electric hand sander with a really coarse grit sandpaper right now I have a 60 grit sand paper in here I'm pretty confident that will get the remaining particles of the veneer off of here so i'm going to do that right now okay so after you're done sanding off the remaining veneer you want to try and get the glue off with a chemical product you don't have to use a chemical product I'm sure there's other ways to do this but I've find that this is the fastest and easiest way.
So always use in a ventilated area right now I'm on my back porch I'm just going to pour it on places where I see glue I"m going to use this sponge brush to apply it you don't want to aggressively brush it on, just spread it around and leave it alone otherwise it will deactivate it and it won't work as well as it should so I'll let that sit for a couple minutes then I'll come back with my scraper OK vintage wood porch swing so after it sat for a couple minutes just take your scraping tool just scrape it off with some pressure don't get this stuff on your hands because it will burn your skin I'm just going to do this to the rest of the table, and then I will go over it with some steel wool and lacquer thinner and then that should be good that should be the end of the process then I will clean up the table with my sanding again until i get the finish I want I plan on staining this table top and then putting a poly over it here's the tabletop after I sanded got it real nice and smooth got out any imperfections I wanted now it's ready to be stained and Poly'd Here's what the finished piece looks like.
